The Child and Youth Policy Unit at the German Youth Institute is designed as a research project that cross-sectionally observes and empirically analyses the interconnections between structures in child and youth policy and their (biographical) impacts on children and young people, making its findings accessible to the actors involved in child and youth policy. The focus of the Unit’s work is on policy consulting. In this capacity, the Child and Youth Policy Unit serves as a correspondence partner for institutional actors in child and youth policy at the federal level, particularly for the Federal Youth Advisory Board.
