The Federal Youth Advisory Board (FYAB) is an expert committee consisting of up to 15 members from politics, administration, associations and academia – including five young people under the age of 27 – that advises the federal government on key issues of child and youth welfare, as well as on cross-cutting issues of child and youth policy. Its advisory activities focus on processes of social change and their impact on the realities of the lives of children, adolescents and young adults. The FYAB particularly endeavours to include the perspectives of young people in its deliberations.
The Federal Youth Advisory Board presents the findings of its deliberations to the federal government, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, as well as to the (specialist) public in the form of detailed position papers or shorter policy briefs. On this site, you can find information about the members, tasks and position papers of the Federal Youth Advisory Board, as well as details of its activities.
